Fortress Fantastical

Making a huge solid building float in the air is the simplest visual way of representing the fantastic realms and a feeling of other. There are certain rules that still need to be observed in order for this to work, simple perspective rules mostly and a basic nod to actual traditional castles architecture, they reinforce the preconceptions of the viewer that it is a solid believable structure and the fact that it flies in the air is almost a secondary detail.
