About David Gallagher

Started in the late 70's and have worked as an illustrator since then in a wide range of subjects, an keen interest in the natural world. Prints, digital and traditional artwork. I've had an active interest in design and layout, this generally goes unnoticed but has influenced my approach to a lot of my work. I have worked in publishing, greetings and games fields over the years, and have worked with and been a consultant to several computer game companies. I have also done a great deal of concept work that is used to focus and direct imagery for others to develop.

Prints, digital and traditional artwork

I worked in traditional methods for decades, mostly watercolour and gouache though I made a conscious change to inks to bring more of a loose technique to retain more of the vigour of the initial drawn image , more recently I moved onto digital media, mostly on an iPad pro using the art app Procreate. Some of my work will involve both methods, usually starting traditionally and developing the image digitally.
